Lisa Clarabut Counselling
Hi, I'm Lisa (she/her) and I am a registered clinical counsellor practicing in Victoria, B.C. Thank you for stopping by to find out more about my practice. I have over 20 years of experience working as a mental health counsellor, supporting both youth and adults. I am available to provide daytime and evening sessions, both in person and virtually (in B.C and some parts of Canada).
When I am not working, I love to spend time with family and friends, adventuring in the forest or watching a good movie. I also love my self-care solo activities like crafting, painting, or snuggling my cat while nerding out on evidence-based psychology books or podcasts. I have lived experience of the unique journey of parenting a neurodivergent teen and navigating a blended family.
Please read more about My Approach to Counselling to see if working together might feel right for you.

My Approach to Counselling
My way of being with people is relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I recognize that arriving at counselling may feel vulnerable and uncertain, my approach to working together is to offer a safe space where we can explore the areas that you identify as needing attention. My goal is to create a collaborative relationship which allows you to discuss the challenges you are facing and to offer support and skills to explore these together. I will do this with curiosity, empathy, compassion, and respect for your process. I am passionate about promoting self-care & self-compassion within my sessions. It is important to me that you feel like our counselling relationship is the right fit for you. Research has shown that many factors influence a person’s change process in counselling, with a large percentage of that being the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I aim to foster a relationship that will allow you to show up in sessions just as you are.
"Often when you think you're at the end of something, you're at the beginning of something else."
